The Belgian Arms is a pub in the pretty village of Holyport which is a favourite with locals and visitors to the area.
The Berkshire pub is known for serving British food that is beautifully cooked, a great selection of wines and a really good pint. The emphasis is on ‘simplicity’ at The Belgian Arms, which is reflected in the earthy decor and friendly and efficient manner of the staff.
The menu offers good British food, which is fresh and seasonal.
The wine list has been devised to compliment the menu and offers a variety to appeal to all palates and affordability.
The pub is over 200 years old and prior to the First World War was known as ‘The Eagle’. During the war the prisoner of war camp was at the end of Holyport Street and the Germans used to march past and salute The Eagle. Many of the local villagers fought in Belgium and therefore it was decided to rename the pub ‘The Belgian Arms’.
