Nestled in the heart of the peak district is the hideaway of Holymoorside which boasts the gem of The Bulls Head.
Owner and chef patron is Mark Aisthorpe, who is well known for his appearance on BBC TV show the Great British Menu in 2022 reaching the regional final. After working in high-end hotels and for Marcus Waring at Petrus, Aisthorpe decided it was time to open his own venue in 2016.
He finally decided on The Bulls Head where he focuses on seasonal, farm to table dishes, using only the best local produce. Menus change daily depending on the quality of produce it can source. Aisthorpe prides himself on only using the best local produce to bring a truly stunning experience in modern British cuisine.
The pub was given a 3 AA Rosette Award for culinary excellence in 2023.
It also runs a Cookery and Foraging school on the site.
