The Kinneuchar Inn

Chef James Ferguson and partner Alethea Palmer took the helm of the previously closed 17th century Kinneuchar Inn in September 2019.

Ferguson worked with chef Gordon Ramsay and Angela Hartnett before heading to Scotland. Hartnett has already named it as one of her favourite restaurants.

The menu champions great local food with an à la carte menu based on ingredients sourced from the Balcaskie Estate and a handful of carefully curated partners.

Dishes on the menu include starters such as East Neuk radicchio, stilton, pickled pears and walnuts; quince glazed ham and piccalilli and braised cornish octopus, fennel, orzo and aioli.

Mains include dishes such as braised cockerel, smoked bacon, red wine and polenta and line caught cod, braised fennel, chickpeas and grilled cedro lemon.

There is a beautiful private dining room that seats up to 20 guests with its own bar, conservatory, and courtyard. This is available for exclusive hire from 10 to 24 people.

The pub and restaurant has recently been awarded Best Local Restaurant in Scotland 2023 by The Good Food Guide. It is also listed in the Michelin Guide 2024.
