The duo behind Four Legs, the popular kitchen residency that used to run at the Compton Arms have dipped their toe into the pub sector. And it has been a great success.
Chefs Ed McIlroy and Jamie Allan took over the former Auld Triangle pub near Finsbury Park in 2021 renaming it The Plimsoll and gaining much critical acclaim.
The modern pub serves a frequently changing menu which is available in its dining room and bar.
Interestingly they opened the pub with some help from a crowdfunding campaign which supported the launch of the new venue and helped to refurbish its kitchen.
The pub has retained its traditional look and vibe and is known for its famous Dexter cheeseburger.
The Plimsoll has been named among the top 50 cosiest pubs in Britain by the Good Food Guide.
There is no stopping the duo who launched their second venue last year with the opening of Tollington’s, a fish bar in Finsbury Park, north London, celebrating regional Spanish coastline dining.
