The versatile independently owned and family-run pub welcomes everyone from muddy walkers to (well-behaved) dogs and children as well as diners seeking a romantic meal.
It is owned by Cedric and Amy Bosi – Cedric being related to well-known chef Claude – and has been in the family since 2014.
Menu highlights have included the likes of chorizo Scotch egg with spicy ketchup; pickled mackerel fennel and apple salad; and double-baked cheese souffle with cheese and chive sauce.
Mains have included Gressingham duck breast, quail Scotch egg, fondant potato and braised fennel; dressed Cromer Crab, skinny fries, mixed leaf salad and lemon mayonnaise; and confit pork belly, pork shoulder ballotine, mashed potato and turnips.
For afters, expect dishes such as peach trifle with candied almonds; fig and pistachio tart with vanilla ice cream; and passionfruit cheesecake with a mango sorbet.
